Candle Magic

Color Correspondances | Candle Blessing | All Purpose Candle Spell

It is fine to use any type of candles in candlemagic. Votives  will burn  faster, pillars will take weeks to burn down. Tapers seem to be  the most adaptable, and the easiest to inscribe on. Jar candles work best  for longterm   spells.

Dressing Candles
All candles shoul  be dressed with an anointing oil before used for magic. Many  brands are comercially available, or you can make your own. Here are some ideas  for you to try-

Power oil- mix 1 oz ( that is 1/8th of a cup) cooking oil ( Use  what you have on hand) with 1 t vanilla extract- shake and cap. This one is surprizingly potent!

Consecrated oil- take whatever oil you have on hand, hold it in  your hands and  say a prayer of invoking the energy of the God and Goddess over  the oil. Use only for candle dressing or magical aplications.

Other- add a few drops of your favorite perfume to 1 oz  cooking oil.  Cap and shake

Extinguishing
You may extinguish them in whatever manner feels right at  the moment, after saying "The Spell is done- the magic is mine", or some other closing sentiment. Pinch, Blow, Wave…it has makes no difference. It is a matter of personal prefference.

Special devotion or supplication- nine devotional candles
Special Spiritual message and readings: red and white

Hold your hands over the candles and say:
" In the name of Isis of the thousand breasts, may my purpose be blessed:
In the name of Diana, may my spell be strong;
In the name of Hecate, Queen of Heaven, Queen of Hell
May my purpose be accomplished"

Then hold the candles and proclaim : 
" So Mote it Be !"

Write your desire on parchment ( or paper)  and place it under  the candle. Annoint appropriate color candle and burn appropriate corresponding insence.

Say:

Upon this candle I will write
What I reccive of thee tonight
Grant what I wish you to do
I dedicate this rite to you.
I trust that you will grant this boon,
O lovely Goddess of the Moon
I call earth to bound my spell,
Air speed it's travel well
Fire give it spirit from above
Water quench my spell with love
So Mote it Be !
